To celebrate the Year of the Snake, my boyfriend and I went to Calgary for the weekend. It was a fantastic trip filled with an adventurous snowboarding session, delicious dim sum dishes, great fashion finds and a bargain downtown Hyatt room ($110/ night from Hotwire). From experience, I find that you can score the best hotel deals on Hotwire/ Priceline in the downtown area of major cities. Compared to the normal $200/night rate, I'd rather take the Hotwire offer!
On to my shopping adventure, here are two of my most exciting purchases - a Lululemon jacket and a pair of Banana Republic boots.
Lululemon Run: Bundle Up Jacket *Reflect (in black): I got them on sale in the store for $148. Online the regular price is $198.
I bought this jacket to wear on casual days. It's super comfortable and chic. I am not a outdoor runner, so I probably won't use the jacket for its designed purpose. Nevertheless, I still love it.
What is unique about this jacket is that the lace-detailed Luxchange hood and the inner zipper are detachable. The Luxchange is a pretty cool new feature Lululemon has come out. Any Luxchange jackets can be zipped to any Luxchange hoods or collars. I also love that the hood covers almost my whole face. It definitely is very useful when it comes to windy and cold days. The lace design just adds an unexpected feminine touch to a athletic jacket.
The silhouette of the jacket is sleek and flattering like all Lululemon designs. Did I mention this jacket is water-resistant?
The hood and the front zipper have reflective details to keep you visible in the dark.
Banana Republic Trystan Rain Boots (in chocolate): On sale in-store for $49 with extra 25% off (reg: $98).
There are two surprises about these boots. First of all, I thought they were actually regular riding boots when I first saw them. I picked them up and put them back on the shelf with disappointment because they were size 5 (I usually wear size 6.5-7). Under my boyfriend's recommendation, I tried them on. Guess what, they fit perfectly! I definitely suggest going down 1-2 sizes with Banana Republic rain boots.
They are the perfect of combination of comfort, style and practicality!
How was your weekend? I would love to hear about your hauls if you did any retail therapy :)
Be happy,
Lynndiful <3
