What is in my Z-Palette (including depotting steps)

I am very excited to show you all what I have in my new Z-Palette. I have wanted a palette like this for a long time to consolidate my eyeshadows. When I do my makeup in the morning, I am always in a rush. Hence, I do not have enough time to dig out multiple palettes even if I want to use particular shadows in each of them. I tend to just grab a quad and work with the four colours there. Now that I have filled my Z-Palette, I cannot wait to show some love to those neglected shadows due to my laziness.

Here is how I completed the palette:

Step 1: gather products
(I decided to take apart my Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV too.)
Step 2: Preheat a flat iron and take apart the eyeshadow case is necessary
(No need for the Maybelline ones but the Revlon cases are double layered. There is actually a plastic pan that holds the four shadows and the pan can be taken out prior to heating by using a knife to allow heat to get to the bottom of the shadow pan faster. Many Urban Decay cases are made with cardboard, which are easier to take apart.)

Step 3: heat the bottom of a compact for 30 seconds

Step 4: take out the eyeshadow pan by inserting the sharp end of a knife into the space between the pan and the palette
(slowly lift up the pan and be careful not to touch the eyeshadows)

Step 5: take out the pan and clean the glue off the pan
(use rubbing alcohol/ acetone-based nail polish remover to get rid of the sticky glue, may need to scrape first)

Step 6: label eyeshadows
(using a marker or a sticker)

Step 7: organize your palette
(if the pan is not magnetic already, use the magnetic stickers that come with the Z-Palette)
In my Z-Palette:
  1. Maybelline ExpertWear in Almond Satin 35T
  2. Maybelline ExpertWear in Bronze Haze 60T
  3. Revlon Colorstay 16-Hour Eye Shadow in Adventurous
  4. Revlon Colorstay 16-Hour Eye Shadow in Addictive
  5. Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow Trio in Silent Treatment
  6. Sephora Single Shadow in Aspen Summit (2011 Birthday Bonus)
  7. Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV (old)
I just have eyeshadows in my palette, but you can also put blushes, bronzers and any other powder products in yours. It could potentially be a super compact travel palette with all your makeup essentials.

Do you prefer big palettes like me?

Be happy,

Lynndiful <3

  1. I have a LOT of drustore palettes... many of them not used as much as they should be! a z-palette would be so useful, I guess it's quite similar to the new MAC palette?

    1. Hi Steph, thank you for commenting! The new MAC palette is very similar to the Z Palette and more readily accessible. I probably would not buy the Z palette, but I definitely love that I got it for Christmas :)However, the MAC palette does not come with magnets and the Z palette does. They come handy when the drugstore eyeshadow pans arent magnetic.
